2 Good Samaritan physicians receive kudos
Every day throughout the hospital, our physicians and clinical teams save lives and protect families and futures. We’re proud of the work they do and grateful for their skill and dedication to this community. It’s our privilege to post the thanks we receive on their behalf from appreciative patients and loved ones, as well as from team members who are inspired by their work.

“Dr. Douglas Ornoff is consistently such a responsive, thorough and kind person to reach out to. He comes to the bedside and evaluates concerns, he is quick to place orders, he is a very clear communicator, and he follows up when needed. I have also been here when he rounds on a unit and checks in to see if we need anything. So grateful for him, I hope he knows he is appreciated!”
Summary of conversation between patient’s spouse, patient rep
“The wife of a recent patient wanted me to share the following appreciation. She was especially appreciative of Dr. Howard Saft’s presence, professionalism and compassionate approach during a very challenging time.
“Dr. Saft demonstrated remarkable emotional intelligence and a rare ability to communicate effectively with a neurodivergent patient. Many healthcare professionals, including physicians, often struggle to engage with neurodivergent individuals in a way that is both respectful and effective. Dr. Saft, however, approached David with empathy, patience and a deep understanding that brought immense comfort.
“His ability to connect meaningfully and respectfully with someone whose needs are often misunderstood or overlooked made a lasting impression.
"Dr. Saft’s conduct reflects the highest standards of care and communication, and he is a true asset to Good Samaritan.”
Thank you to these physicians and all members of our medical staff for your compassionate care and support of the entire clinical team.
