2 Lutheran teams recognized with L.O.V.E. Awards
On May 12, Intermountain Health felt the love as leaders, physicians, caregivers, family members and friends came together at the Utah State Capitol to celebrate Intermountain’s Living Our Values Everyday — or L.O.V.E. — Award recipients. The ceremony formally recognized teams and caregivers who embody our mission and live our values every day. This year, seven caregivers and 16 teams were selected to receive an award, including Lutheran’s Radiation Oncology Department and Foot & Ankle Clinic.
These are the only teams on the Front Range and two of just three teams throughout the Peaks Region to win the award.
Congrats to Tyler Kemmis, MD, Julie Weintraub, MD, and everyone in Radiation Oncology, as well as Blake Hines, DPM, Meghan Hurley, DPM, and the entire team at the Foot & Ankle Clinic.
Heather Speaks, Lutheran’s senior manager of Volunteer Services, also was honored as one of just six individuals enterprise-wide to receive a L.O.V.E. Award.
“This is our third L.O.V.E. Awards ceremony since launching the official program in 2024,” said Rob Allen, president and CEO. “What began with team and legacy recognition has grown to include individual values awards as well. That growth reflects our shared belief that living our values every day is foundational to fulfilling our mission of helping people live the healthiest lives possible.”
Team Performance Awards
While many teams around the organization achieve single thresholds of excellence for individual performance measures, few meet multiple thresholds. After reviewing 2025 key performance indicator (KPI) performance on Caregiver Engagement, Patient Experience, Quality, Patient Safety, Equity, Access, Stewardship, and Select Health Member Experience, 16 teams surfaced who met multiple thresholds of excellence — qualifying them to win an Intermountain L.O.V.E. Team Performance Award.
Keep sharing the L.O.V.E.!
In addition to KPI performance, care teams and individuals can be recognized with a L.O.V.E. Award based on nominations.
“As of today, more than 40,000 Intermountain caregivers have been recognized through a L.O.V.E. Award nomination, from patients, family members, leaders, and colleagues — and more nominations are coming in every day,” said Heather Brace, chief people officer. “The L.O.V.E. Awards offer a chance to spotlight caregivers and teams who deliver the best possible care, services and experiences to all they encounter. Don’t let that momentum falter. Please continue nominating individuals who are living our values every day in big ways.”
