8 nominated for Good Samaritan APP of the Year!

Congratulations to the eight advanced practice professionals nominated by you for our 2025 APP of the Year Award! Invaluable partners in our daily pursuit of best-practice care, they are highly skilled and always at the ready to support our patients and the care team.

All nominees are listed here and will be recognized at our annual Medical Staff Meeting & Dinner next week, when the winner will be revealed. Thank you to all who submitted nominations!

Laura Clevenger, NNP, Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine: “Laura’s leadership and dedication are a cornerstone to our unit's success. In difficult circumstances, she remains kind and calm. She approaches each interaction thoughtfully and respectfully. She has excellent clinical and procedural skills and can be trusted with any task.”

Isabelle Dirksen, PA, Neurological Surgery: “Isabelle has consistently demonstrated unwavering commitment to the practice of neurosurgery. She has demonstrated a technical excellence in the OR with a proficiency equivalent to - if not more than - some PGY-3 neurosurgical residents I have trained.”

James Disney, NP, Critical Care Medicine: “James is a steady and trusted presence. He steps in without hesitation to support critical cases, collaborates seamlessly with physicians and nurses, and ensures patients receive the safest, highest-quality care possible.”

Julie Mangelsdorf, PA, Neurological Surgery: “Julie provides exceptional patient care and is a joy to work with! She is kind and patient with every encounter and has an immense knowledge base.”

Emmanuel Nti, NP, Internal Medicine: “Manny is so wonderful to work with! His quick response time and knowledge makes me feel safe when taking care of critical patients on the floor. Manny is always open to discussion and providing education. He is a team player and always greets his coworkers with a smile.”

Stephanie Nussbaumer, NP, Pulmonary Disease: “Stephanie is one of the hardest working APPs I have worked with. She never hesitates to stay late and take extra shifts. Great rapport with RNs, hospitalists and other staff. She is thoughtful, collaborative and collegial.”

Doreen Sebring, NNP, Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine: “Doreen is a teacher by nature. She is open to training new staff, techs and her peers with a smile. Hands on, with patience.”

Tabatha Tomajko, PA, General Surgery: “Tabatha has led many initiatives with regards to spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injury. She provides information to families to help them better understand TBI in their family member and what to expect. Clearly hits all the criteria. She also works with many disciplines, PT, OT, SLP, as well as other physicians and APPs.”

Congratulations to all of our nominees! And our sincere thanks to all advanced practice professionals who ensure our patients receive the safest, highest-quality care every day.
