We are pleased to announce that after an extensive recruitment and interview process, we have chosen Ben Keidan, MD, MBA, FACP, to serve as the Peaks Region associate chief medical officer of hospitals and acute care. He will start on Monday, Sept. 15.
Dr. Keidan brings more than two decades of experience as a primary care physician and hospitalist, complemented by a decade of progressive leadership positions. He joins us from Boulder Community Health, where he served as the ambulatory medical director of Quality and Population Health, followed by eight years as chief medical officer.

His approach is grounded in the shared objective of delivering high-value care to the populations served, while also promoting a fulfilling and rewarding professional environment for all members of the healthcare team.
As ACMO for the Peaks Region, Dr. Keidan will report directly to the regional chief medical officer and collaborate closely with market and hospital presidents to foster strong, healthy relationships among providers across Intermountain Health. Dr. Keidan will be responsible for driving process improvements and standardizing work across departments, clinical programs, service lines, shared services, markets and clinics.
Dr. Keidan will provide stewardship over the hospital chief medical officers, senior medical director of ED/Trauma, and senior medical director of Acute Medicine, supporting their efforts in safety, quality, patient experience, accreditation and leadership development. As a member of the Region Medical Executive Leadership Team, Dr. Keidan is integral to shaping and executing regional clinical strategies.
Dr. Keidan is a Michigan native who earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, followed by his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. Subsequently, he held an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School while practicing as a hospitalist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. In 2005, Dr. Keidan relocated to Boulder, Colo., where he continued his career as both a primary care physician and hospitalist.
In his spare time, Dr. Keidan enjoys trail running, swimming, cooking and travelling with his wife and two children. Recently, he learned to play the guitar and formed a local rock band.
We are confident that Dr. Keidan’s extensive clinical and leadership experience will be a tremendous asset to our organization and the communities we serve. Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Dr. Keidan as he embarks on this important role.
