Better Access, Better Connections: Connect Care Expands in Colorado
by Lee Syphus, Peaks Region VP of Operations
We’re expanding access to primary and virtual care across the Peaks region — and strengthening how virtual and in-person care connect. In July, we’re introducing two key updates:
Expanded Access with improved referral pathways into Intermountain clinics and services
Connect Care Urgent Care now offers providers credentialed with the Colorado Medical Group, expanding insurance coverage for urgent care visits when patients travel anywhere in the U.S. Intermountain partners with KeyCare for care outside of our core states and accessible within Intermountain MyChart.
What this means for patients
Patients have another pathway to establish primary care with Intermountain
Patients who start virtually can now more easily transition to in-person care, including primary care, specialty care, imaging, and lab services
Virtual care helps us reach patients who may not otherwise enter our system and connect them to ongoing care
Why this matters
More patients are choosing virtual care. This expansion helps us:
Improve access across Colorado communities
Strengthen continuity of care
Grow long-term patient relationships within Intermountain
Support Peaks Evergreen goals for patient attachment
What to expect
Smoother referral pathways between Connect Care and in-person services
Expanded insurance coverage for urgent care visits when patients are traveling
Continued access through MyChart and Intermountain’s digital front door
When to guide patients to Connect Care
Connect Care Primary Care is a good option for patients seeking convenient, virtual access for routine needs or to establish care
In-person care remains important for physical exams, procedures, or when a hands-on evaluation is needed
Your role remains essential in helping patients navigate these options and stay connected to care.
Thank you for the care you provide every day and for supporting efforts to improve access and coordination across our system.
