Epinephrine and norepinephrine dosing

Important safety issue

Please update any epinephrine and norepinephrine dosing and instructions in your favorites. As you recall, Epic changes included weight-based dosing for epinephrine and norepinephrine. There appears to be a lingering issue with some orders still being entered using the old rate-based dosing.

Please check your saved favorite orders in Epic to make sure you do not have any old versions of the epi/norepi orders that need to be updated.

Specifically:

• Replace any existing favorites with the updated Epic versions.

• Update all dosing, titration and administration instructions to use mcg/kg/min instead of mcg/min.

• After making these changes, resave the updated entries as new favorites.
