Kevyn Stroebe, MD, Honored with L.O.V.E. Award for Extraordinary Patient Advocacy

Kevyn Stroebe, MD, recently received a Physicians & APPs L.O.V.E. (Living Our Values Every day) Award — an honor celebrating caregivers who create meaningful experiences through compassion, partnership, and consistent excellence. He was nominated by a patient whose story reflects the heart of our mission and the profound impact of caregivers who truly listen.

For years, the patient lived with debilitating symptoms that were repeatedly dismissed elsewhere as anxiety and depression. They lost the ability to work, struggled to stand, frequently fainted, and grew increasingly ill. They were losing hope — until they found Dr. Stroebe.

From the first visit, Dr. Stroebe took the time to listen deeply, look further, and act quickly. She ordered the right imaging, reviewed the details with intention, and uncovered the true cause: a large mass inside the patient’s skull and a rare disease that had already eroded critical bone structures, including the entire bone around the pituitary gland. Within weeks, she secured the patient’s transfer to Mayo Clinic for urgent, life-changing surgery.

“If Dr. Stroebe hadn’t taken the time to listen, believe me, and take action, I wouldn’t be here today,” wrote the patient.

Even after surgery, Dr. Stroebe continues to care for the patient with the same compassion and attentiveness. She arrives prepared, informed, and ready to support. She reviews notes before entering the room. She knows the patient’s history. She listens. She partners. And she empowers her patients to feel seen and supported in their healing.

The patient calls her “a true asset to Intermountain Health” — a beautiful reflection of the values we strive to live every day.

The L.O.V.E. Award recognizes caregivers who embody partnership, empathy, and excellence — qualities Dr. Stroebe brings to every patient she serves. Her commitment to listening with intention and leading with compassion reflects the leadership we model across Intermountain Health.

Stories like this remind us how powerful it is when a caregiver goes beyond symptoms to understand the human experience behind them.

Every day, caregivers across our system create moments of connection, safety, and healing. If you know someone who consistently lives our values,  nominate them for a Living Our Values Everyday - L.O.V.E. - Award!

It’s one of the most meaningful ways we can celebrate each other — and continue building a culture where compassionate care leads the way.
