New locums psychiatrist to start in July at Good Samaritan, Saint Joseph

Curbside telephone consults via Canyons to end

Starting Tuesday, July 1, a new locums psychiatrist, Robert Humberstone, MD, will begin accepting consults at Good Samaritan and Saint Joseph hospitals.

Dr. Humberstone will round at both hospitals Monday through Friday. Requests for psychiatry consults will continue to be placed in Epic as they were previously. The order is Behavioral Health/Psychiatry Consult. Dr. Humberstone's contact information and pager will be added to the online call schedule for each hospital, starting July 1.

There will be no consult coverage overnight or on weekends. Behavioral Health teams at both hospitals are staffed with masters-level clinicians and they will be on site and available to assist in managing issues during these times.

Issues that arise after hours or on weekends that require Dr. Humberstone's attention will be addressed by him the next morning or on Monday.

This will result in the discontinuation of the prior option to consult by phone with a Canyon's psychiatric practitioner.
