New partnership with Sound Anesthesia goes into effect in August
By John Tynes, MD, MBA, Saint Joseph Hospital Chief Medical Officer
Saint Joseph Hospital is pleased to announce that our new partnership with Sound Anesthesia for the provision of anesthesia services will be effective Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 6 a.m. This transition marks an exciting new chapter as we work together to enhance perioperative care and ensure continued excellence in patient safety and surgeon satisfaction.
An experienced team of medical practice leaders, anesthesiologists and CRNAs will guide this transition, bringing proven expertise and a commitment to quality. To ensure a seamless changeover, we have designed a phased approach.
Phase 1: Transition Period
This initial four-month period will focus on onboarding new practitioners and integrating new clinicians into Sound Anesthesia’s processes and culture. Sound’s regional leadership and on-site ambassadors will be actively engaged to support day-to-day operations and foster collaboration with our medical staff.
Phase 2: Stabilization Period
Starting in month five, we expect a stable environment with less need for locum providers and a stronger permanent team. By this time, key physician and CRNA leadership roles are expected to be filled or offered, and on-site ambassador support will be scaled back accordingly.
We are pleased to share that Sarah Garber, MD, and Noele Morse, CRNA, will serve as interim leaders, bringing significant leadership experience. Recruitment for medical directors, anesthesiologists and CRNAs is well underway and progressing well.
We extend our gratitude to the Kaiser Anesthesia Department for their years of service and collaboration and appreciate their role in supporting a smooth transition.
While we recognize that transitions can present challenges, we are confident that our partnership with Sound Anesthesia will strengthen our anesthesia services and enhance the experience for our patients and surgeons alike.
