New RET procedure launches in September with Epic rollout

Respiratory Therapy Evaluate and Treat procedure

We have merged practiced respiratory evaluation protocols from several Intermountain Health facilities into a single, comprehensive procedure called "Respiratory Therapy Evaluate and Treat." The protocols included have been designed to ensure that we consistently provide best-practice care and meet regulatory compliance.

Enterprise wide, respiratory care managers and subject matter experts reviewed, edited and combined all protocols being utilized. The final policy was approved by all managers and directors within the service line.

The Epic build team has integrated the RET policy into our documentation and charting standards for the Epic rollout in September. All Peaks hospital Medical Executive Committees have approved the RET procedure for all adult patients, age 18 and older.

Please feel free to reach out to your local respiratory care manager if you have any questions.
