Please Review: Updated Restraint Policies

In an effort to promote consistency across our organization and reinforce our commitment to delivering the highest standards of patient care, three newly harmonized restraint practices and policies took effect on Dec. 9, 2025.

These documents, found on MyIntermountain through the PolicyTech library, are meant to streamline our procedures and provide clear guidance for all caregivers:

Key Changes

  • The Patient Restraints and Seclusion-SCL Health policy has been retired.

  • The practice and documentation of chemical restraints has been retired. Instead, agitation and aggression will be addressed using our agitation order sets and updated workflows.

Thank you for your attention to these important changes as we continue to improve our practices and maintain the highest standards of patient care.

If you have any questions or need further clarification, please reach out to Annan Fetzer or Troy Creer. Your feedback is valued as we work together to ensure a smooth transition to these new policies.
