Medical Staff Leadership
Matthew D. Cyphers, MD
New role: Chief of Staff
What he does: Dr. Cyphers serves in an elected position leading the hospital’s self-governed medical staff. In this role, he upholds hospital bylaws and clinical rules, presides over all medical staff meetings, serves as a spokesperson for the medical staff, and assists with peer review investigations when needed. He chairs the Medical Executive Committee and represents the medical staff to the hospital board of trustees. He supports the elected Committee chairs who lead hospital credentialing and privileging, peer review, and professionalism.
Medical Group Leadership
Amy L. Davis, MD, MPH, FAAFP, AAHIVS
New role: Medical Director, Western Colorado Medical Group
What she does: Dr. Davis works in a dyad partnership with Joya Boyd to provide leadership and support of Western Colorado Medical Group providers and to collaborate with the practice administrators with regards to quality measures, financial stewardship, and customer service. She supports 26 different specialties with 24 outpatient clinics and 287 employed physicians/APPs.
Joya Boyd
Role: Executive Director, Western Colorado Medical Group
What she does: Joya leads operations, strategy and growth for the employed medical group. The medical group is comprised of 26 different specialties with 24 outpatient clinics and 5 inpatient service lines. Additionally, for 2026, she will also lead Hospital CV services including the Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab, and Oncology services, including the Infusion center in addition to Outpatient Therapy departments at the Life Center and Rocky Mountain Orthopedics and later this year, the new Rec Center clinic.

Michelle Shiao, DNP, RN, NE-BC
New roles: Hospital Chief Operating Officer, President Delegate for St. Mary’s Regional Hospital and Western Colorado market.
What she does: As COO, Michelle leads operations and strategy for the hospital. As delegate president, she is also accountable for the wider market.
Cori Holloway, MSN, NE-BC, PCCN-K
New role: Hospital Chief Nursing Officer
What she does: Cori provides strategic and operational leadership for St. Mary’s nursing services. She ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, establishes consistent nursing care practices, and partners with hospital leadership to advance quality and patient safety. Cori oversees nursing resources, staffing, and policy development while supporting education and professional growth to ensure nurses have the tools and training needed to deliver excellent patient care.
Vince Donohue
New-ish role: Hospital Chief Finance Officer, Associate VP of Finance, Western Colorado Market
What he does: Vince leads financial strategy, budgeting, reporting, and analysis to support operational goals and long-term sustainability at St. Mary’s. Vince oversees financial compliance and risk management, partners with regional and hospital leaders, and guides finance teams to ensure strong fiscal stewardship across the Western Colorado market.
Michele Arnold, MD, MBA
Role: Hospital Chief Medical Officer
What I do: I serve on the St. Mary’s Senior Leadership Team, where I lead initiatives to improve patient and caregiver experience and advance high-quality, high-value care. I provide oversight in safety and quality and support the growth and development of clinical services and programs. I closely collaborate with providers and care teams to strengthen care delivery and expand access to services for the Grand Junction community and the surrounding region.
