Thirteen St. Mary’s Clinicians Receive Kudos
Thirteen St. Mary’s clinicians received kudos from patients and colleagues last month for exceptional partnership and compassionate care. We’re proud to recognize them by posting the comments we’ve received on their behalf in Pulse.
Colleague-to-Colleague Recognition
Michele Arnold, DO, CMO, extended kudos to Nichole Montgomery, MD, for recommendations on a recent ER patient who would have been impossible to place in inpatient psychiatry due to drains from a recent abdominal surgery. Your quick-thinking, curbside medication management ultimately enabled the patient to discharge home. Thank you for modeling good stewardship in support of this patient!
Drs. Kaia Knutson, Doug Brown, and Roy Erb, MD, were recognized by St. Mary’s Senior Leadership team for exceptional teamwork and support during a recent radiology outage that impacted off-site radiology readings for nearly nine hours. This group, supported by other members of the radiology team and partners at Community Hospital, moved quickly and collaboratively to mitigate patient safety risks by developing a community imaging plan in real time, calling in additional staff, and remaining flexible to support a potential change to the scene air‑landing site as needed. Proactive problem‑solving, coordination, and willingness to step up under challenging circumstances played a critical role in maintaining safe, uninterrupted care for our patients. Thank you for going above and beyond and for showing up with your best—every single day.
Gratitude from Patients
I was admitted to St. Mary’s on March 6 with severe stomach pain. From the moment I arrived until I was discharged on Sunday morning, March 8, the attitude, responsiveness, expertise, and personal care I received were truly top-notch. I was treated in the ED by Scott Powers, MD. After the appropriate protocols, I received prompt pain relief and was quickly taken to the ultrasound lab. The imaging revealed significant sludge and gallstones blocking the junction between my gallbladder and pancreas. Fortunately, I was able to undergo a procedure with Brent Prosser, MD, and his team, along with Drs. Caleb Van Essen and Kevin Keller.
I would also like to recognize the following individuals for their exceptional care and professionalism:
Brantley Bond, DO, who earned my deepest respect
Ariel Girodo, PA-C
Bao Nhi Nguyen, DO
Rebecca Pilkerton, MD
Sarah Starosta, PA-C
I am now home resting and recovering—and still bragging about the exceptional care your teams delivered.
P.S. Truly, everyone contributed to the best hospital experience I’ve ever had.
A patient recently shared an emotional personal story about Eric N. Momin, MD. She explained that three years ago, he operated on her when no other physicians — including those in Denver — were willing to take her case. She described Dr. Momin as kind, confident, and life‑changing, stating that she is now thriving, has gained three to four inches in height, and has never felt better. She said, “Dr. Momin is an absolute genius, and I will never be able to thank him enough for what he’s done for my family and me.”
