11 Good Samaritan physicians, APPs receive kudos from patients, leadership

Our Kudos for the Month is submitted by the hospital’s Quality Department, which so often observes superior documentation from two physicians that they were compelled to offer a heartfelt and public thank you. Nine more members of the medical staff received shoutouts from inpatients during Executive Rounding. It’s our pleasure to list all of them below.

Dr. Kudos of the Month

“During retrospective chart reviews for safety events, we have consistently observed two physicians who stand out for their excellence in documentation, communication with patients and families, follow-up, advocacy for safety, and commitment to closing the loop with patients: Dr. Leah Fuchs and Dr. David Jackson. Most recently, this was demonstrated in the context of a patient complaint regarding the availability of the consulting team and perceived delays in care. Both physicians were involved in the patient’s care and clearly documented the plan of care, as well as all follow-up interventions completed. While this is not a new observation, we felt it was important to formally recognize and share this positive feedback in acknowledgment of their continued exemplary performance.”

Gratitude shared during Executive Rounding

Ten physicians and advanced practice professionals were singled out by patients this month for exceptional care. They are: Brian Allen, MD, John Bradley, MD, Leah Fuchs, MD, Jessica Gamwell, PA, Valorie Hauck-Sorensen, CNM, Amanda Johns, CNM, Virginia R. Nagel, CNM, Rachel Niemet, MD, Desarom Teso, MD, and Frank Walch, MD.

Patients repeatedly complimented these practitioners for clear communication and frequent follow up, as well as for inspiring trust, showing kindness and compassion, and creating a positive patient experience.

Thank you to these members of our medical staff and all physicians and APPs who are dedicated every day to providing the highest-quality, safest care.
