3 Front Range clinics to close

By Scott Peek, Peaks Region Operational Lead & Front Range President, and Lee Syphus Peaks Region Vice President of Medical Group Operations

We want to share a brief update on changes underway across Peaks Region Medical Group.

Across the region, we are implementing a series of actions that include the closure of four clinics, six programmatic changes, and adjustments to leadership structures along with rightsizing staffing. This work aligns with both Peaks Region Evergreen 3.0 and Intermountain’s Health System Optimization (HSO) efforts, focused on strengthening financial stability, improving efficiency, and aligning how we deliver care across the enterprise.

Peaks Clinic Updates: Front Range

  • Occupational Medicine within the Broomfield Clinic: Closing July 24. The space will be repurposed to support expanded primary care services within the existing clinic at this location. Clinic staff will be transitioned to other roles or out of the organization.

  • Wheat Ridge Clinic – Occupational Medicine: Closing July 24. Clinic staff will be transitioned to other roles or out of the organization.

  • Denver Sports Medicine Clinic: Closing July 24; will be repurposed to a Neurosurgery clinic in the future. Clinic staff will be transitioned to other roles or out of the organization.

You can learn more about the changes here.

These decisions are being made in response to a rapidly evolving healthcare environment—marked by rising costs, workforce pressures, and ongoing financial challenges—and are necessary to ensure we can continue delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a sustainable way. While difficult, they are intended to strengthen our region for long-term success by building a more stable foundation, while also positioning us to thoughtfully grow and expand access to care in areas where community needs are emerging.

We recognize the impact these changes have on our caregivers. Affected caregivers were notified. Our priority is to support those caregivers with respect, transparency, and access to resources, including transition support, career assistance, and benefits guidance. We are also working closely with our Physician Recruitment and Talent Acquisition teams to help identify new opportunities whenever possible.

Thank you for your leadership, compassion, and support of your teams.
