Clarification: Kaiser Permanente in-network status through 2026

By Scott Peek, Front Range Market President

We are aware of some ongoing confusion regarding our current contractual relationship with Kaiser Permanente across the Front Range. To ensure our teams provide seamless care to our patients, I want to provide a definitive update on our status.

Intermountain Health remains fully in-network with Kaiser Permanente through the end of 2026.

Key details:

  • Full coverage: Kaiser Permanente patients are covered for both Emergency Department visits and inpatient admissions at all Intermountain Health Peaks Region facilities. Of course, we will never turn away a patient for care in our Emergency Departments regardless of insurance coverage.

  • Admissions policy: Contrary to rumors, there is no restriction on admitting Kaiser patients to our hospitals. They should be treated and admitted under their insurance benefits just as they have been previously.

  • Future updates: We are committed to transparency. When any changes occur regarding our acceptance of Kaiser insurance, you will be notified immediately via official leadership channels.

Requested action: Please share this clarification with your frontline teams—particularly within your Emergency Departments and Admissions offices—to ensure no patient experiences a delay in care due to insurance misinformation.

We appreciate your partnership in ensuring our community continues to receive high-quality care without unnecessary administrative friction.
