IMED APP Representative Candidate Statement: Krissey Gibson, NP

I would be grateful to be selected as the APP Representative on the IMED Medical Executive Committee. I would enjoy the opportunity to assist in strengthening our relationship with physician leaders, continue to improve patient outcomes and help others reach their goals. Our accomplished APP groups play such an important role in patient care at Intermountain and I would like to be one of the voices that continues this growth.

While I have only been an APP for 3 years, I have worked for Intermountain Health since 2003. I started at Cottonwood Hospital working in food service, while going to school for nursing. I worked as an RN on the Medical Telemetry floor for 7 years before going to Shock Trauma ICU. I stayed there for 7 years and during that time completed my NP. I also worked as a nursing supervisor at IMC for 2 years until I started working in CICU as a nurse practitioner.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a nursing supervisor, where I was involved in running the hospital and using problem solving skills daily. I attended meetings with administrators and felt like I was part of a group that wanted to improve patient experience and outcomes as well as attempting to increase staff job satisfaction.

Thank you for considering my application.
