IMED APP Representative Candidate Statement: Lori Stromness, DNP

I would be honored to serve on the Intermountain Medical Center Medical Executive Committee and represent the perspectives of Advanced Practice Providers and frontline clinicians. Throughout my nearly 25 years with Intermountain, I have valued opportunities to support both patients and caregivers through collaboration, relationship-building, and thoughtful problem solving.

My career within Intermountain has provided me with a broad range of experiences across multiple roles and care settings, beginning as a CAN, progressing to RN, and ultimately earning my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Clinically, I have worked in surgical transplant, emergency care, and outpatient urology and will soon be joining the cardiovascular ICU team. These experiences have given me a unique appreciation for the complexity of healthcare delivery across inpatient, outpatient, procedural, and critical care environments and working with a team, a collaborative physician partnership and as an independent APP.

I have developed a deep appreciation for the operational, clinical, and human factors that influence both patient care and caregiver well-being. In addition to my clinical role, I have been actively involved in caregiver well-being initiatives, peer support development, and regional physician and APP collaboration efforts. These experiences have strengthened my belief that strong organizational culture, communication, and interdisciplinary partnerships are essential to delivering exceptional care.

If elected, I would aim to bring a balanced, collaborative, and solutions-focused voice to the committee. I value listening first, understanding different perspectives, and helping identify practical approaches that support both clinical excellence and caregiver sustainability. I am particularly passionate about ensuring that clinic-based perspectives are represented in larger organizational conversations.

It would be a privilege to serve Intermountain Medical Center and contribute to the important work of the Medical Executive Committee.
