Leadership role restructuring announcement

By Jim Sheets, Peaks Region president

We are pleased to announce a significant restructuring of leadership roles within Saint Joseph Hospital and the Front Range Market, designed to enhance our ability to support clinicians and caregivers, and serve patients and communities effectively.

Dedicated roles to focus on our priorities

To address the unique challenges facing the Front Range market, particularly in light of the Kaiser Permanente Colorado shift, we are separating the roles of Front Range Market president and president of Saint Joseph Hospital.

This change will enable Scott Peek, Front Range Market president, to focus entirely on supporting all four hospitals within the Front Range, driving strategic growth and addressing market-wide challenges. Scott’s priority will be to partner with stakeholders and lead the transformation of our market position.

Why now?

This strategic leadership investment is crucial for navigating our current landscape and securing our long-term stability and growth.

Considering recent changes and market shifts, you may wonder why we're investing in a new leadership role amid these challenges. We’re looking to build a future where Saint Joseph Hospital and the Front Range Market thrive beyond anything we can currently imagine.

A dedicated hospital president will have the ability to devote 100 percent of their time to Saint Joe's, ensuring that we can continue to provide exceptional care for years to come. Separating this role from the market president will enable Scott Peek to support all hospitals in this market, ensuring we stabilize financially and grow to meet community needs.

Timeline

Recruitment for the dedicated president of Saint Joseph Hospital position will start immediately. Given its size, complexity and growth potential, Saint Joseph Hospital will continue to have a chief operations officer role.

This investment demonstrates Intermountain Health's commitment to the enduring success of our region. As John C. Maxwell stated, "Change is inevitable. Growth is optional." We are choosing growth, and this strategic shift is a testament to the long-term success of Saint Joseph Hospital and the entire Front Range Market.

We sincerely appreciate your unwavering commitment to our mission and your ongoing dedication to providing exceptional care to our patients. You are the foundation of our success, and we are grateful for your continuing resilience and professionalism during these times of transition.
