Lutheran conducts 2 emergency-preparedness drills

Lutheran Hospital recently conducted two large-scale emergency preparedness exercises to help ensure teams are ready to respond when it matters most. One exercise supported the National Disaster Medical System readiness effort, while the other was the hospital’s annual simulated mass casualty exercise.

During the drills, physicians, APPs, caregivers and patient actors helped simulate real-world scenarios including rapid triage, expanded staffing and bed capacity, patient movement coordination and family reunification support. In one exercise, teams responded to a mock multi-vehicle crash scenario with 31 simulated patients.
