St. Mary’s Kudos: Letters of Thanks

An excerpt from a letter written by a grateful patient:
I am writing to express my deepest and most sincere gratitude for the care I received during my recent stay at St. Mary's Hospital. David Ling, DO, and Thomas Michael Scupp, MD, were [on] the team who saved my life and I will be forever grateful for the expertise and dedication you showed. You are truly the gold standard. I was in a very vulnerable state, diagnosed with blood clots in both of my lungs, and your professionalism, skill, and compassion made an immeasurable difference. The outcome could have turned out very differently… The ability to remain calm, provide comfort and positive reinforcement made a significant difference in my recovery. From the initial diagnosis, Dr. Ling and Dr. Scupp's professionalism and compassionate approach made a significant difference in my experience. They patiently listened to my concerns, explained my treatment options in detail, and ensured I felt informed and comfortable every step of the way. Their expertise and attention to detail were truly remarkable, and thanks to their dedicated guidance, I am now feeling much better and on the path to full recovery. The kindness and genuine concern of Dr. Ling and Dr. Scupp have left a lasting impression on me, and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of outstanding medical care…

A message from Douglas Hirth, MD, general surgeon:
During my last week on the trauma acute care service in October, I had the pleasure of co-managing multiple patients with Rebecca Wilson, MD. With multiple complex patients, including a polytrauma patient with a subacute stroke and a general surgery patient with multiple primary disease processes, including a small bowel obstruction and septic joints, Dr. Wilson provided excellent clinical care and was a pleasure to work with on these patients. I was grateful to have her help.

An excerpt from an email recently sent by Carrie Barber, a paramedic with CareFlight of the Rockies. After being injured in a serious accident, her close friend’s son was transported by CareFlight to St. Mary’s Emergency Department:
The care from the staff in the ER blew me away. Dr. Kaia Knutson's ability to explain and connect with my friend was amazing. I saw true compassion, which, as we all know, is something that is sometimes lost in what we do. I was so grateful for the care she provided and the attentiveness to his injuries … Every single person who stepped foot into that room showed so much love and true concern …
